We didn't intend to visit this basilica, but it was one of the 'extras' thrown in when we booked onto a tour to see some pyramids. Our Lady of Guadalupe is an aspect of the Virgin Mary who appeared to St. Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin, an Aztec convert to Roman Catholicism, back in 1531.
