Ball hoop

A hoop on the Great Ballcourt where they played a game called 'pok-ta-pok' or 'pok-ta-tok' ('cos that was the noise that ball made as it bounced). The rules were simple enough: teams played one-on-one, and the game was won when somebody put the ball through the hoop. It was made a million times more difficult by the fact that players werent allowed to use their hands; instead they relied on their hips, feet or sometimes bats and rackets. The game had a dramatic ending: The captain of the winning team had his head lopped of as an offering to the gods!
